It's Backpack Boogie Time!
Even though it seems school has just let out for the summer, it takes a boatload of planning to get things ready for the coming school year. And this is true with collecting backpacks, school supplies, new children's sox, and new children's underwear in support of our community's children. You will note a collection table is set up in the Gathering Space and our wonderful leaders, Joleen and Michael Rebarchik, stand ready to deliver your donations to the Fowlerville Family Impact Center. Back-to-school sales are already beginning to pop up. Backpack Boogie runs through August 11.

Veggie Swap Marches On!
It's not just for vegetables anymore! Other items which have come and gone this past Spring include daffodil bulbs, garden seeds, eggs, small gardening aids and tools, and even empty egg cartons! Please don't be shy about helping yourself. That is the point of the whole activity => to help both those with an overabundance and to help those who don't have a green thumb or the room/energy to grow it at home. Veggie Swap is located to the right of the Christian Service table in the Gathering Space and will run through most of September - or whenever we run out of zukes! All 'leftovers' are transported to the Fowlerville Family Impact Center for distribution, so nothing goes to waste. Leave what you can => Take what you need!

On the Horizon

• Calling All Golfers! The Livingston County Community Alliance is hosting their annual golf outing on August 2 at Chemung Hills Golf Club (3125 Golf Club Rd, Howell 48843). All funds generated from this event go directly back into the community to support youth substance abuse prevention projects. Pope Francis’ Prayer Intentions for July 2024:  For the pastoral care of the sick - We pray that the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick confer to those who receive it and their loved ones the power of the Lord and become ever more a visible sign of compassion and hope for all.
  

Christian Service SUMMER Office Hours

In order to allow our volunteers time to rest and rejuvenate, St Agnes Christian Service will be reverting to our traditional summer office hour schedule. This year, Christian Service office will be officially open the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10 AM-12 Noon during June-July-August; specifically: June 18, July 16, and August 20.  Our traditional every-Tuesday office hours will resume the day after Labor Day (September 3).

During this time, the Christian Service email will be checked several times a day and telephone messages will be checked at least 2x/weekly on an irregular schedule. Therefore, if it is a Christian Service emergency or if you need a timely reply, it would be better to email (stagnes.christianservice@gmail.com) than to leave a voicemail. We will be available to fill emergency bedding orders.
